Philosophy

We first opened the doors to our cozy cottage style restaurant on Kerbey Lane in Austin, Texas, May 5th 1980.  Kerbey Lane Café was founded by two people who longed to create delectable culinary delights and satisfy Austinites’ cravings for unique, local, healthy food at affordable prices. It’s almost 30 years later and we still make it our mission to provide our guests with the freshest local ingredients we can procure.  Our philosophy is fueled by the desire to satisfy our guests, support local suppliers and small businesses and give back to the Austin community to which we owe our success. 

We are proud to say that we couldn’t have done any of this without our family. The Kerbey Lane Café family encompasses our employees, their families, and our loyal guests who over the years have inspired us with their hard work and creative ideas, many of which can be found on our menu. It is in deep gratitude that we recognize each one of them for their dedication, and the contributions they have made in helping us achieve our goals.
