As you should know by now, our Summer seasonal menu is back and better than ever. We’ve brought back some of our most popular summer dishes and we’ve also introduced some brand new ones. Today, we’re spotlighting a sandwich that was very popular with our staff at our seasonal menu meetings. The Ahogada Sandwich is difficult to pronounce but very easy to enjoy.
In its essence, the Ahogada is a pulled pork panini but there is so much more to it than that. The key component is pork carnitas from our friends at Richardson Farms. Our carnitas is pork loin with freshly minced garlic, jalapenos, onions, cumin, salt, chili powder, and red wine vinegar. We pair the carnitas with Avocado and caramelized onion and place the sandwich in our panini press.
Once that glorious panini is assembled we place it in a bowl with a tomato-lime jus. What results is the perfect blend of savory flavors with an acidic counter-point. You choose any of our sandwich sides to complete the meal. This one goes really well with our garlic mashed potatoes but you can choose anything your heart desires including a salad for an extra $1.
